David Maurer has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. David started their career as an intern in the Kommunikationsabteilung des Regierungsrates, Staatskanzlei, Kanton Zürich in 2014. David then interned at Die Schweizerische Post AG, PostLogistics AG in 2015. From 2008 to 2015, they worked as a freelance journalist. In 2016, they joined FAIRMED as a Trainee PR/Fundraising and later became the Project Manager Digital Communication. In 2019, they were promoted to Deputy Head of Marketing and eventually became the Head of Marketing in 2021. David also served as a Board member (Deputy) at Swiss Malaria Group from 2017 to 2020. Additionally, they worked as the Executive Secretary at Swiss Alliance against Neglected Tropical Diseases (SANTD) from 2017 to 2020.

David Maurer has a diverse education history. In 2012, they began their studies at ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts UAS Zurich in Communication Studies. During this time, they also engaged in a Doppelstudium in Communication and Journalism. David successfully completed their studies in 2015 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts UAS Zurich in Journalism as well as a Bachelor of Arts UAS Zurich in Organisationskommunikation.

In 2018, David Maurer enrolled at the Verbandsmanagement Institut (VMI) for further training and courses in Marketing in NPO (Non-Profit Organizations) and CAS Fundraising, which they completed in 2020. Subsequently, they pursued further training in Management in NPOs at VMI.

In addition to their degree pursuits, David Maurer has certifications in various fields. David obtained a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Fundraising from VMI in December 2020.
