Emma Berntman

Emma Berntman, PhD, is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in environmental, social, and governance issues. Currently serving as the Head of AMR Programmes and Senior Engagement Specialist at the FAIRR Initiative since May 2022, Emma manages initiatives related to sustainable proteins and animal pharmaceuticals, emphasizing the financial risks associated with intensive animal production. Prior to this role, Emma worked at Federated Hermes Limited from October 2015 to February 2022 as an Engagement Professional, leading the natural resource stewardship team and overseeing engagement with global companies. Earlier experience includes project management in environmental certification at First Hotels, where Emma trained hundreds of employees and conducted annual audits, and research activities at Spitfire Communications. Emma holds a PhD in Immunology from Lund University and additional qualifications in Clinical Drug Development and Biomedicine.
