Jens Riis-Jacobsen

Digital Transformation Leader at Fairtrade International

Jens Riis-Jacobsen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in digital transformation and information technology. Currently serving as the Digital Transformation Leader at Fairtrade International since August 2021, Jens focuses on enhancing the business strategies of 25 Fairtrade System organizations to improve the livelihoods of producers in developing countries. Prior to this role, Jens was the Director of Information Technology at CIMMYT (2011-2020), overseeing IT services for maize and wheat research aimed at increasing food security. Jens also held positions as Data Manager at the International Potato Center, Chief Technical Advisor at Rambøll, Crop Information Specialist at CIMMYT, Freelance Consultant at COWI, Chief Technical Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, and Advisor on project monitoring and evaluation at FAO. Jens holds an M.Sc. in Forestry from the University of Oxford and a Master of Technology Management from Aalborg University.
