John Houghland

John Houghland, MD, FACEP is a seasoned emergency medicine physician currently serving as the Chief and Medical Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN, where over 70,000 patients receive care annually. Holding positions on the Board of Directors and as a managing physician and shareholder for Emergency Physicians, PA (EPPA), John has played a pivotal role in quality improvement initiatives and has been recognized with the Fairview Foundation Champion of Care Award in 2012. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from Whitman College, complemented by a residency in Emergency Medicine at Denver Health. Additionally, John has been actively involved in Fairview Health Services' Medical Executive Committee and has served as Chief of Staff and Assistant Medical Director.
