Genia Herbst

Genia Herbst is an experienced Occupational Therapist currently working at Amedisys since August 2023 and serving as a PRN Occupational Therapist at Fairview Park Hospital since May 2022. With a long-standing career at Shepherd Center beginning in 2002, Genia holds multiple roles, including PRN Quality Outcomes Specialist and ABI Post-Acute OT Manager, and coordinates the OT student program. Additionally, Genia is a Clinical Adjunct Faculty member at Brenau University since May 2021 and previously worked as the OT Supervisor at North Fulton Regional Hospital from 1998 to 2000, where responsibilities included acute care OT staffing, patient care, and department management. Genia’s early career includes serving as an Occupational Therapist at Charlotte Institute of Rehabilitation from 1989 to 1995. Genia earned a BS in Occupational Therapy from Valdosta State University and continued education at the Medical College of Georgia, culminating in a degree from Eastern Kentucky University, completed in June 2023.
