Carol Olley has a diverse work experience spanning from 1996 to the present. Carol has held various roles in different organizations. Carol started their career as a Nursery Manager and Casual Teacher at Gateshead College in 1996. Carol then became a Nursery Manager at Little Learners Day Nursery Sunderland in 1998, followed by a position as a Day Care Inspector at Sunderland Social Services in 1999. From 2001 to 2003, Carol worked as a Childcare Inspector at Ofsted, where they were responsible for registering and inspecting childcare services. Carol then joined the Children's Heart Federation in 2003, initially as a National Group Development Officer, where they organized support groups and coordinated activities for children with heart conditions. Carol also served as the Acting Chief Executive during a temporary secondment in 2004. In 2006, Carol became a Director at CEO Initiatives, where they worked until 2014. During this time, they also served as a Learning Facilitator and Teacher at Gateshead College from 2014 to 2017. Carol then joined Anthony Nolan in 2017 as a Regional Register Development Manager, where they recruited and trained volunteers and organized events to register people on the Anthony Nolan Stem Cell register. In 2018, they joined Family Action as a Regional School Partner in the North East of England, responsible for delivering the National School Breakfast Programme. Carol was recently promoted to the role of School Recruitment Team Manager for the same program. Throughout their career, Carol has demonstrated a passion for education, child welfare, and community development.
Carol Olley completed a Certificate in Education in Further Education at the University of Sunderland from 2013 to 2015.
