Erin Baumgartner

Erin Baumgartner serves as the Managing Director of Programs at the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since September 2023, focusing on addressing complex societal challenges through education and research in data science and social sciences. Concurrently, Erin is the CEO of Family Dinner, a service that delivers fresh, local ingredients to homes weekly. Previous roles include Research Affiliate at the MIT Senseable City Lab from November 2017 to April 2019, where research centered on the impact of digital technology in urban environments, and Assistant Director at the same lab from January 2008 to November 2017, overseeing strategic operations and partnerships. Erin holds multiple degrees in French Literature from New York University, Université Paris-Sorbonne, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
