Sarah Hyde

Director of Program Events at Family Equality Council

Sarah Hyde (she/they) joined the Family Equality team as Director of Program Events in February 2023. Sarah has worked in LGBTQ+ nonprofit spaces for the last decade, and in that time managed volunteers for large-scale events at organizations including the National AIDS Memorial, the It Gets Better Project, San Francisco Pride, Folsom Street Fair, Frameline Film Festival, and more. Ask them about the time they stood in the middle of Giants Stadium as the SF Dykes on Bikes circled the baseball diamond!

Sarah is also a certified sex educator, abortion doula, and domestic violence advocate. Her early career roots are in building and facilitating curricula and events on healthy relationship skills and sex education for queer and trans youth. She utilizes the frameworks of harm reduction, mutual aid, and restorative justice in all of the work that she does. They are compelled by the mission of Family Equality and aim to create events that are accessible, equitable, and centering on trans and BIPOC folks.
