Akilah Debeau

Akilah DeBeau, LMFT has a diverse work experience in the mental health field. Akilah started their career as a Receptionist at Lawrenceville Acupuncture Center, LLC where they handled medical insurance billing and collected payments. Akilah then transitioned to become a Mental Health Ambassador at the Unstoppable Girls Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing programs for girls to improve self-esteem and prevent bullying.

In 2017, Akilah joined Family & Psychological Services, Inc. as a Clinician, conducting outpatient therapy and managing a caseload of 20-30 families. During their time there, they developed comprehensive treatment plans focused on accurate diagnosis and behavioral treatment of problems.

Akilah also co-created and hosted the HeartsChat Radio Show, an online talk show discussing mental health topics and providing advice to listeners. Additionally, they worked as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Family Therapy and Consultation Services/United Family Services, where they led individual and family therapy sessions and conducted timely documentation of client information, including treatment plans and progress notes.

Furthermore, Akilah has held positions such as Director of Pennsylvania Services and Clinical Director of the IBHS Program. In these roles, they demonstrated strong leadership skills and managed various aspects of the programs.

Akilah DeBeau, LMFT completed a Master's Degree in Couples and Family Therapy at Drexel University from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Developmental Psychology and WGS from The College of New Jersey, which they pursued from 2007 to 2011.
