Alan Smoot

Alan Smoot is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in software development and management. Currently serving as the Mobile Engineering Manager for FamilySearch since June 2015, Alan oversees the engineering teams for iOS and Android applications. Previously, Alan held leadership roles at the LDS Church, including Solution Manager for the LDSTech Community and Director of Software Development, managing 65 developers and introducing Web Services. Additional experience includes roles as Software Development Manager at Cemaphore Systems, Owner/CTO of Construction Email, and Director of Software Development at Digital Harbor and Coresoft Technologies. Alan began a career in software development in 1989 with WordPerfect/Novell/Corel and holds a BSBA degree from the University of Phoenix.
