Sharlene Washington possesses a diverse professional background in photography and early childhood education. Currently serving as a Family Specialist at FamilyWise since November 2022, Sharlene previously held the role of Assistant Director and Preschool Teacher at Linkage Childcare, a Spanish immersion childcare center, from February 2018 to June 2023. Additionally, Sharlene has experience as a Pre-kindergarten Teacher at KinderCare Learning Center and worked as a Photographer/Portrait Artist at Kiddie Kandids from 2008 to 2010. Sharlene's educational credentials include an Associate's degree in Social Work from Eastern Gateway Community College, a Child Development Associate from Ellis University, and a diploma in Arts & Communication from North Community High School.

Giving parents of all ages and backgrounds the tools to be effective parents and positive role models improves children’s chances for a better future. Kids don’t come with instructions. First Step Early Childhood Education Center is an affordable, amazing childcare center that is nationally accredited and open to any child from 6 weeks through 5 years of age. Every child deserves to grow up in a safe and loving home. We reunify children with their parents, when it is safe and possible. We do this by providing skills, coaching and a neutral place for families to come together during difficult child custody situations.
