Sumedha Perera

Sumedha Perera is an experienced data scientist currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Fanatics, Inc. since August 2017, focusing on machine learning for product discovery. Prior experience includes roles as Principal Member Of Technical Staff at Palerra, where machine learning was applied to cloud security prior to the company's acquisition by Oracle, and as a Member Of Technical Staff at eBay, specializing in fraud detection using machine learning. Additional expertise includes serving as Principal Analytics Engineer at Lattice Engines, where machine learning supported sales and marketing efforts before the acquisition by Dunn & Bradstreet, and as Project Lead at Oracle Corporation, overseeing database applications software development. Sumedha holds a Master of Science in Mathematics (Scientific Computing) from Carnegie Mellon University, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, and completed primary and secondary education at Trinity College Kandy.
