Johan Semeese is an experienced professional in the fields of nuclear safety and industrial operations. Currently serving as an Inspecteur deskundige nucleaire veiligheid klasse I at the Federal Agency for Nuclear Control since October 2022, Johan previously held various roles at ArcelorMittal Ghent, including Plant Prevention Officer responsible for factory safety and Support Engineer in the Steelshop, contributing to maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Additionally, Johan had a managerial role in the Electricity Steelshop at ArcelorMittal Belgium, focusing on the improvement of electrical installations. Educational qualifications include an engineering degree in Nuclear Science from Ghent University, several safety and prevention certifications from Katholieke Hogeschool 'Sint-Lieven', and a strong foundational education from Sint Lievenscollege Gent.

The Federal Agency for Nuclear Control promotes the effective protection of the general public, workers and the environment against the hazards of ionising radiation. We collaborate closely with our foreign counterparts. We encourage and monitor scientific research. We provide in training and development for those employed in the nuclear sector.
