Bernhard Scholz

Bernhard Scholz has extensive work experience in various academic and industry positions. Bernhard is currently serving as the Chief Research Officer (CRO) at Fantom Foundation since May 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Full Professor at the University of Sydney from January 2021. Bernhard also served as an Associate Professor from January 2013 to December 2020, Senior Lecturer from January 2008 to December 2012, and Lecturer from February 2004 to December 2007 at the same university. Additionally, Bernhard worked as a Visiting Professor at Oracle from April 2013 to December 2015, Adjunct Professor at Yonsei University from March 2009 to October 2011, and Visiting Professor at Sun Microsystems from April 2007 to February 2008. Bernhard started their career as a Universitätsassistent (eq. Assistant Professor) at Vienna University of Technology from October 1999 to September 2003. Bernhard also served as a Visiting Professor at University of Victoria from August 2002 to January 2003 and as a Research Assistant at the University of Vienna from July 1998 to June 1999. Prior to their academic positions, they worked as a Programmer and Analyst at Baring Asset Management from February 1997 to May 1998.

Bernhard Scholz attended the Technische Universität Wien, where they obtained a Diplom Ingenieur degree in Computer Science (Informatik) in 1997. Bernhard later continued their education at the same institution and completed their Dr. Techn. degree in Computer Science (Informatik) in 2001.
