Filip Pattyn

Filip Pattyn is an accomplished entrepreneur and expert in bioinformatics and knowledge management, currently serving as Founder & CTO at both FAQIR Institute and MedEx.Health, as well as Founder & CEO of FAQIR Foundation. Filip holds the position of Guest Professor at UGent, focusing on FAIR data and public data integration, while also advising on program management for the Belgium Health Data Agency. With extensive experience since 2009 as Owner of Menapi Informatics, a consultancy in life sciences and linked data, Filip has previously worked as an expert advisor for imec on public health data strategies and served as a Scientific Advisor at ONTOFORCE. An experienced educator, Filip has lectured at Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen in high-throughput analysis and biostatistics. Educational credentials include a PhD in Medical Sciences, multiple Master’s degrees from Ghent University, and studies in France.
