Far Brook School
Laneta Lafayette is a dedicated educator with extensive experience in teaching and curriculum development, currently serving as a 6th Grade Literacy Teacher at Far Brook School since June 2022. Laneta has demonstrated a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and social justice in education through various roles, including serving on the Equity Team, and has also contributed as a Summer Camp Lead Teacher and Middle School Humanities Teacher. Past positions include Content Developer at NWEA and 7th Grade ELA Teacher at Uncommon Schools, where Laneta focused on creating an inclusive and culturally responsive curriculum. Laneta holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Montclair State University and an Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education from Rasmussen University.

Far Brook School is an independent, coeducational day school located in Short Hills, New Jersey for grades Pre-K through 8. Our purpose is to create a supportive and caring community that cherishes love of learning, creativity, and individuality, and that provides teachers and students with both support and freedom to take risks in order to reach their full potential.
