Moko Tepania is a dedicated public servant and educator with extensive experience in local government and education. Currently serving as the Northland Representative to the National Council of Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ) and Co-Chair of the Young Elected Members Committee, Moko holds various roles within the Far North District Council, including Mayor and Councillor for the Kaikohe-Hokianga Ward. Moko's educational background includes a Bachelor of Teaching and Bachelor of Arts from The University of Waikato, along with multiple diplomas in Māori language from Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. In the education sector, Moko has held positions such as Kaiako Matua and Principal’s Designate at Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Kaikohe, as well as teaching roles at Pompallier Catholic College, demonstrating a strong commitment to Māori language and culture.
