Carl Hawkes has a diverse work experience that spans various sectors and roles. Carl started their career as a Supply Chain and Logistics Assistant at General Dynamics UK Limited. Carl then served as the Welfare and Community Officer at Sheffield Hallam Students' Union, where they oversaw welfare and community projects. After that, they worked at Sheffield Hallam University in different roles, including Project Officer, where they led various projects related to financial process improvement and equality and diversity. Carl also worked as the Programme Lead and Volunteering Manager at South Yorkshire Housing Association, where they managed employment services and the volunteering programme. Later, they became the Corporate Relations Manager at FareShare UK, leading the UK's largest corporate/charity partnership. Carl also held the role of Senior Programme Manager at FareShare UK, managing strategic projects and grants related to the COVID-19 response. Currently, they are working as the Head of Network Support at FareShare UK, overseeing network support services and the community team. In addition to their professional roles, they are also a Board Trustee and Chair of the Programmes Subcommittee at Leeds Community Foundation. Carl is also an Associate Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University, teaching Food Systems.
Carl Hawkes attended Frodsham Science and Technology College from 2001 to 2006. After completing their secondary education, they enrolled at Helsby High School Sixth Form College where they pursued A-Levels in PE, Biology, English Literature, and Economics from 2006 to 2008. Carl then went on to Sheffield Hallam University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sport and Community Development from 2008 to 2011.
