João Mendes

João Mendes has extensive experience in information security, currently serving as Vice President of Information Security at FARFETCH since February 2015, with previous roles including Senior Director and Director in the same field. Prior to FARFETCH, João held the position of Technical Architecture Security Leader at ALERT Life Sciences Computing, S.A., where the focus was on developing frameworks and infrastructure for healthcare applications. Earlier roles include Developer at Qimonda, where responsibilities included technical design and implementation for GUI and backend services, and R&D Engineer at EFACEC SE, working on Java and C++ projects in the light rail transportation sector. João began his career as a Network Security Engineer trainee at Banco BPI. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Informatics - Systems and Networks and a Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering and Information Systems, both from Universidade do Porto.
