Farm & Wilderness Foundation
Alexis Charney joined Farm and Wilderness in summer 2016 as the Outdoor Living Skills Director at IB. Prior to F&W Alexis worked for a number of years as a Youth Mentor on a small but mighty urban farm with the Regional Environmental Council in Worcester, Mass. From their own humble beginnings, much of their success can be attributed to the proverb “it takes a village to raise a child.” Their can-do attitude and a big smile are a testament to the many teachers, coaches, authors, and other friendly faces who have helped nourish the well from which they pour.

At Farm & Wilderness summer programs, they focus on community, home grown fun and living closely with the natural world. They offer six overnight camps for children ages nine through seventeen, a day camp and a family camp. Four generations of campers have learned a lifelong love of nature and the joy of a simple, participatory life here in the Vermont woods.
