Farm & Wilderness Foundation
Having spent a significant part of his life as part of the Farm and Wilderness and Ninevah community -- from camper and counselor to director and now, parent -- David Nichols joined the Farm & Wilderness Board in 2019. David (“Listening Songbird”) was a camper at Timberlake, Flying Cloud, and Tamarack Farm, then became a counselor and director of Flying Cloud. His two sons have attended the Barn Day Camp and Timberlake (as third generation members of TL). When he’s not at camp, David is a middle school English and History teacher in suburban Boston. Many of David’s favorite activities were inspired and influenced by his time at Farm & Wilderness -- spending time in nature, woodworking, making music, and pursuing social justice.

At Farm & Wilderness summer programs, they focus on community, home grown fun and living closely with the natural world. They offer six overnight camps for children ages nine through seventeen, a day camp and a family camp. Four generations of campers have learned a lifelong love of nature and the joy of a simple, participatory life here in the Vermont woods.
