Jason Freeman

Jason Freeman is an accomplished leader in the organic agriculture sector, currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Farmer Direct Organic since January 2018. Prior to this role, Jason founded Farmer Direct Co-operative Ltd. in August 2002, successfully growing the co-operative to over 60 organic family farm member-owners across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, and achieving the milestone of being the first organization in North America certified to domestic fair trade standards in 2010. Earlier in their career, Jason founded BioHemp Environmental Technologies, which became the first company in North America to offer a line of certified organic hempseed foods, before selling the venture in 2001.
