Oswaldo Torres

Senior Staff Electrical Engineer at FarmWise

Oswaldo Torres has a long and varied work experience in the engineering field. In 2003, they began their career as an Electronic Technician at TRITECH. In 2004, they founded and became the CEO of Proto Express, where they developed and implemented a sales and marketing plan to provide services to build rapid prototypes for the education and industrial sector. Later that same year, they began working as an Electronic Engineer at ESKAYSER, where they designed hardware, firmware and software for smart card readers, created hardware prototype for two new control access products, and installed and calibrated radio frequency equipment for control access. In 2005, they began working at World Energy Labs as a Firmware Engineer, where they developed and tested new firmware for a handheld lead acid battery tester and performed regression testing for new firmware and hardware releases. That same year, they also began working at Siemens as a Test Firmware Engineer, where they generated test steps and test plans to automate all critical tests for an airbag system, validated the firmware version of the airbag ECU, and successfully tested and validated the firmware from the ECU for Mercedes and Chrysler Airbag systems. In 2008, they began working at Global Energy Innovations as a Lead Firmware Engineer, where they were a key member of the founding engineering team that designed, developed, and built the company's patented technology and flagship products utilized world - wide in the industry where battery health data is critical. In 2015, they began working at Beam Presence by Suitable Technologies as a System Integration and Validation Engineer, where they were a key design team member on the 2nd generation of the flagship robot, co-designed new robot hardware, extensively documented new hardware and software development, brought up and troubleshot new hardware, generated, reviewed and tested software and drivers for custom hardware, served as system integration interim team lead to build and test the new robot prototypes, and provided technical explanations and support for new robot prototypes during major public events. Oswaldo also lead the regulatory compliance certification for all the company robotic products, troubleshot and rectified EMI failures in hardware design, and collaborated with experts to successfully certify products under EMI and EMC standards tests. In 2017, they became the CEO of IoTeche LLC. In 2018, they began working at Bossa Nova Robotics as a Senior System Integration and Validation Engineer, where they generated robot integration, testing and documentation, researched and developed robot imaging and lighting to guide custom camera design, provided heavy design feedback to all interdisciplinary teams, designed, brought up and troubleshooted a new robot mobility platform. Currently, they are working as a Senior System Integration and Validation Engineer at FarmWise.

Oswaldo Torres obtained a BS in Dual Major in Electronics and Computer Science from Centro de Enseñanza Técnica Industrial between 2000 and 2005. Oswaldo also has obtained three additional certifications, including Electronic Connectors from Timron Scientific Consulting Inc. in December 2018, EMI / EMC Course by SILENT Solutions from Silent Solutions LLC in February 2016, and Developing Software for the Nios II Processor Training Class from Altera in August 2007.
