Associate Registrar at Farnsworth Art Museum

Angie Lowther is an accomplished museum professional with extensive experience in collections management and exhibitions. Currently serving as Associate Registrar at Farnsworth Art Museum since September 2021, Angie previously held roles at Peabody Essex Museum, including Assistant Registrar, Collection Manager, and Collection Specialist from March 2013 to September 2021. Responsibilities included managing outgoing loans, overseeing collection welfare, collaborating across departments, facilitating digitization efforts, and supporting exhibition installations. Prior positions include Documentation Specialist at ARTEX Fine Art Services, Collections Manager and Exhibition Coordinator at Beloit College, and various roles in gallery and collections support. Angie holds an MA in Art History with a concentration in American Art and a Certificate in Museum Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, as well as a BA in Art History with a minor in Marketing from DePaul University.

Farnsworth Art Museum

The Farnsworth Art Museum offers a nationally recognized collection of works from many of America’s greatest artists. With more than 15,000 works in the collection, there is always something new on view at the Farnsworth. The museum has one of the nation’s largest collections of works by sculptor Louise Nevelson. The Museum has an extensive collection of Maine works by three generations of Wyeths—N.C., Andrew and Jamie—and in a unique partnership with the Wyeth Center for American Art and the Brandywine Museum, has access to more than 7,000 Wyeth works of art.
