Derek Schultz serves as the Associate Principal and Student Engagement Coordinator at Des Moines Public Schools since August 2019. In addition, Derek has been a Group Fitness Instructor for Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping, Inc. since December 2021, focusing on helping individuals achieve their fitness goals. Prior experience includes roles as Assistant Athletic Director and Special Education Teacher at Des Moines Public Schools, where responsibilities involved case management for 9th and 10th-grade students struggling with math. Derek has taught special education at Clarion-Goldfield Community Schools and Collins-Maxwell Community Schools, as well as working as a Data Collector for Musco Lighting. Educational qualifications include a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Viterbo University, a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Morningside University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from William Penn University.
