Matthew Michaels

Matthew Michaels has extensive experience in library services, design, and technology. Currently serving as a Reference Assistant I and Cataloging Assistant I at the Fashion Institute of Technology since August 2006, Matthew manages periodicals and provides customer service while utilizing the Ex Libris ALEPH library catalog database. Additionally, as a Reference/Instruction Adjunct Librarian at Borough of Manhattan Community College since September 2015, Matthew contributes to academic support. Entrepreneurial pursuits include independent tutoring for adults and seniors, as well as web management for Kaufman's Army & Navy. Matthew's background in lighting design spans multiple organizations, including Manhattan Youth and various dance programs, showcasing proficiency in both technical and creative skills. Matthew holds a Master of Library Science degree from Queens College and has completed post-graduate studies in architectural lighting at Penn State University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from the University of Oklahoma.
