Sidney Alfonso Grimes Jr.

Sidney Alfonso Grimes Jr., Ed.D., currently serves as the Associate Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for Academic Affairs at the Fashion Institute of Technology since June 2017, overseeing administrative functions related to academic operations, including budget, personnel, and safety. Previous positions include Assistant Vice President for Administrative Affairs at CUNY Bronx Community College and Executive Director of Campus Operations and Construction Services at Queens College, where responsibilities spanned facilities management, safety, and operational planning. With extensive experience in the education sector, Grimes has also held leadership roles in facilities management at institutions such as John Jay College, The Doe Fund, Inc., and Savoy Assisted Living. Grimes holds multiple degrees, including a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University and an upcoming Master's in Urban Education from The Graduate Center, City University of New York.
