David Blakey

David Blakey is the Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of FAST BIOPHARMA LTD since February 2022. Prior to this role, David served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Chief Scientific Officer at MiNA Therapeutics from October 2015 to February 2022, leading the development of small activating RNA oligonucleotides. David's extensive career at AstraZeneca spanned from 2002 to September 2015, where roles included Chief Scientist for Oligonucleotide Therapeutics and Therapeutic Antibodies and Small Molecules, managing significant collaborations and contributing to cancer discovery strategy. David began a scholarly journey with a BA(Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford (1977-1981) and advanced to a PhD in Drug Metabolism and Toxicology from London University (1981-1984).
