Julian Edmunds

Julian Edmunds has extensive work experience in the aviation industry, with a focus on commercial and operations management. Julian is currently serving as the Chief Commercial Officer for fastjet in Zimbabwe, a position they have held since June 2019. Prior to this, they held the role of Chief Commercial Officer for Federal Airlines Pty Ltd starting in October 2020.

Before joining fastjet and Federal Airlines, Julian worked as an Aviation Consultant in 2018, offering expertise in commercial, operations, and crisis management for tourism aviation in Africa.

Julian has also had significant leadership roles in various organizations. Julian was the Chairman of ATTA (African Travel and Tourism Association) from May 2017 to June 2018, and they served as the East Africa (TZ) & Aviation Director at ATTA from January 2015 to June 2018.

From November 2015 to March 2018, Julian held the position of Managing Director at Coastal Aviation, the largest flying safari company in East Africa. During this time, they managed a fleet of aircraft and provided services to multiple airstrips and airports in Tanzania, as well as strategic links to other countries in the region.

Before their role at Coastal Aviation, Julian served as the Managing Director at TFC (Tanganyika Flying Co.) from April 2007 to October 2015. TFC operated scheduled, charter, and contract aviation services in East Africa, primarily connecting luxury lodges and camps to major airports and destinations.

Earlier in their career, Julian held the position of Business Development Manager at Federal Air from May 2006 to April 2007. Julian also served as the Chief Pilot at Kestrel Air from April 2004 to April 2006.

Overall, Julian Edmunds has demonstrated extensive experience and expertise in aviation management, particularly in the areas of commercial operations, consultancy, and leadership.

Julian Edmunds attended Uppingham School from 1979 to 1994. Julian then pursued a degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Reading from 1985 to 1987. Julian also holds additional certifications from the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority.
