Austin Spires has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting in 2009, they worked as a Commercialization Researcher at the University of Oklahoma, where they conducted technology-transfer research and analysis and collaborated with intellectual property attorneys. Austin then joined Opus Video Productions in 2010 as the Director of Sales, managing sales channels and developing strategic partnerships.

In 2012, Austin transitioned to GitHub, serving as Enterprise Sales and GTM, driving enterprise sales strategies and negotiations for GitHub's on-prem product and SaaS deals. After their time at GitHub, they joined Fastly in 2013 as AVP of Customer Engineering, building and leading a global organization responsible for product support and documentation.

Austin continued to progress in Fastly, taking roles such as Senior Director of Product Management, where they oversaw UI, API, Compliance, and Billing product management, and Senior Director of Customer Incident Response, where they led customer incident response and coordinated project plans. Austin also worked as the Director of Technical Solutions at Finix, leading technical sales functions and overseeing process implementation.

Currently, Austin is the VP of Customer Solutions at Fastly, where they contribute to upgrading the internet experience by providing speed, security, and innovation. Austin is responsible for ensuring essential requirements are met and all teams are prepared for Fastly's high transformation product line.

Throughout their career, Austin has demonstrated a customer-focused approach, led teams, and contributed to the growth and expansion of companies in the technology and payments industries.

Austin Spires has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from the University of Oklahoma. In March 2018, they obtained PMCIII Level Certification from Pragmatic Institute for completing the "Foundations," "Focus," and "Market" courses offered by Pragmatic Marketing Inc.
