Daniel Jeffery

Daniel Jeffery has an extensive work experience in the field of information technology and security. Daniel began their career in 2000 at NetVision as a Senior Directory Specialist, where they gained expertise in LDAP, authentication, and authorization. In 2003, they worked as a Research Assistant and Masters Student, gaining experience in data analysis and meeting tight deadlines. From 2004 to 2006, they pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Arizona, refining their analytical skills and working on computer-aided techniques.

After completing their Ph.D., Daniel joined The Village Bank as an Information Technology Officer, leading the establishment of an internal support organization and achieving high standards of security. Daniel then moved on to Tomax Corporation in 2012 as an Information Security Architect, where they architected a secure multi-tenant cloud infrastructure and implemented PCI-DSS policies.

In 2012, Daniel joined Proofpoint as a Senior Systems Administrator, quickly progressing to become the Manager of Core Systems Operations. In this role, they provided stability and security to a global cloud infrastructure and led a team of systems administrators. Daniel also formed a new DevOps team to bridge the gap between development and operations.

From 2015 to 2018, they served as the Director of Operations for Let's Encrypt at The Linux Foundation. Daniel implemented the entire infrastructure, security, monitoring, and policies for Let's Encrypt, including the construction of two datacenters.

Currently, Daniel is employed at Fastly as a Staff Software Engineer, where they started in 2018. Daniel is also a Senior TLS Systems Engineer, responsible for implementing secure TLS systems.

Daniel Jeffery completed their education in a chronological order. Daniel attended Timpview High School from 1991 to 1995, where they did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study. Following high school, they enrolled at Brigham Young University, starting in 1995 and graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Daniel'sstudies at Brigham Young University focused on Linguistics, Russian, and Anthropology.

Afterward, Daniel pursued a higher degree at UCL, where they attended from 2003 to 2004. During this time, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Scientific Analysis. Subsequently, they continued their education at the University of Arizona from 2004 to 2006, concentrating on Materials Science and Engineering.
