Principal, Serverless Strategy at Fastly

Kevin Phillips has extensive work experience in various technical roles. Kevin is currently employed at Fastly as a Principal, Serverless Strategy, where they started in May 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Cloud Engineer at Fastly from October 2021 to May 2022, and as a Cloud Engineer from August 2019 to October 2021.

Before joining Fastly, Kevin worked at IBM as a Technical Solution Architect from September 2017 to August 2019. In this role, they provided pre- and post-sales support, collaborated with internal and external stakeholders, and customized IBM's standard offering portfolio to meet client needs.

From 2006 to 2017, Kevin was employed at Verizon Enterprise Solutions as a Technical Architect. Kevin designed and implemented infrastructure solutions for strategic enterprise clients, delivered consulting services, and worked as a Client Engineer from 2008 to 2010.

Earlier in their career, Kevin held positions at Kaplan Inc : A Washington Post Co. as a Systems Engineer, where they managed eCommerce and online course delivery systems, designed and built systems, and provided support for various Kaplan business units. Kevin also worked as a Unix Systems Engineer at PowerOne Media and as a Unix Systems Administrator at AdOne.

Kevin Phillips has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Business Administration from UNM Anderson School of Management. Kevin also holds a Bachelor's degree (BA) in Economics from Hunter College and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Electronics Technology from Central New Mexico Community College. Kevin has obtained several certifications related to technology and data science, including certifications from IBM in areas such as cloud migration, machine learning, data science, Docker, and Kubernetes. Kevin has also obtained certifications in IBM Cloud Private, team solution design, cognitive practitioner, architectural thinking, agile explorer, design thinking practitioner, and Bluemix essentials.
