Senior Software Engineer at Fastly

Roberto Guimaraes began their work experience in 1999 at Spacenet Inc as a Senior Software Engineer, where they co-authored and developed the Internet Page Accelerator. This software accelerated web browsing over satellite networks by pre-fetching objects on the server side. Roberto worked on both client and server applications written in C.

In 2005, Guimaraes joined VeriSign as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked until 2015.

Roberto then joined Yahoo in 2015 as a Senior Software Engineer and worked there until 2016.

Currently, Guimaraes is a Senior Software Engineer at Fastly, where they have been since 2016. In this role, they develop and contributes to open-source software that runs on edge servers. Their primary focus is on TCP and TLS Termination.

Roberto Guimaraes obtained their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Unisinos, where they studied from 1990 to 1995. Following that, in 1997, they pursued a Specialization Graduation in Information Systems and Telecommunication from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.
