Nick Sampson

Nick Sampson has a diverse work experience in software engineering and development. Nick is currently working at Fathom as a Software Engineering Team Lead, where they have been since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Software Developer at Fathom from November 2021 to October 2022.

Before joining Fathom, Nick took part in the Continental Divide Trail from April 2021 to September 2021.

Nick previously worked at Invitae as a Software Engineer from November 2019 to April 2021. During their time at Invitae, they focused on backend web services and was involved in splitting a complex legacy monolith service into microservices. Nick also automated infrastructure using Kubernetes, Flux, and Terraform.

From May 2019 to November 2019, Nick took part in the Pacific Northwest Trail.

Prior to that, Nick worked at Global Citizen as a Senior Software Engineer from January 2016 to May 2019. Nick worked on a variety of technologies including Python/Django backend, ReactJS frontend, AWS, Postgres, and automation with Ansible. Nick led large feature projects and had experience working across the entire stack.

Nick also has experience working at FLYR Inc. as a Software Engineer from December 2014 to December 2015, and at EAT Club as a Developer from September 2013 to December 2014. At EAT Club, they had general full stack responsibilities and worked with technologies such as Python, Django, Javascript, Angular, MySQL, HTML, and CSS.

In addition to their professional experience, Nick also has internship experience as a Developer Intern at Opposable Games from June 2012 to August 2012.

Nick Sampson has a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Computer Science with Study Abroad from the University of Bristol, where they attended from 2009 to 2013. In 2011, they also participated in an exchange year at The University of British Columbia, studying Computer Science.
