- Joris Mijnendonckx
Joris Mijnendonckx has extensive experience in the healthcare and nutrition fields, currently serving as a Controleur at FAVV since November 2018. Prior to this role, Joris worked as a Student Worker at Laboratoria Wolfs NV, focusing on quality assurance and IPC tasks. Previous internships included positions as a Keukenmedewerker at Pulderbos-Revalidatiecentrum voor kinderen en jongeren and a Dieetkundige aan huis at Wit-Gele Kruis van Antwerpen. Joris also accumulated experience as a Kassamedewerker at Carrefour and as a Kelner at DE NIEUWE KEIZER. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Voedings en Dieetkunde from AP Hogeschool Antwerpen and a Bachelor's in Verpleegkunde from Karel de Grote-Hogeschool, complemented by an exchange program at Independence Community College.

The mission of the Belgian Food Safety Agency is to preserve the safety of the food chain and the quality of our food in order to protect the health of humans, animals and plants. The BFSA integrates all control services that are competent for the entire food chain. The BFSA is not only competent for controlling food, feed, fertilisers and phytopharmaceuticals, but is also responsible for sanitary (animal diseases) and phytosanitary (plant sector) prevention and control measures. Laying down operational rules on controls, certification, infrastructure standards to be complied with by food chain FFBO’s are also a part of its mission. The BFSA is also in charge of communication regarding all issues concerning the BFSA, in particular of informing consumers.
