Sheila Barbero

Sheila Barbero is a Senior Associate Patent Attorney currently working at FB Rice since November 2022, specializing in the Chemistry team. Previously, Sheila served as a Senior Associate Patent Attorney at FPA Patent Attorneys in the ChemBio team, as well as an Associate Patent Attorney in the same team. Prior experience includes working at Griffith Hack as an Associate Patent Attorney in the Life Sciences and Chemistry team, as well as various roles including Patent Attorney and Trainee Patent Attorney. Sheila began a career in research as a Research Assistant at the UQ Institute for Molecular Bioscience, focusing on the design and evaluation of inhibitors related to inflammation, and also served as an IMB Science Ambassador. Education includes a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Melbourne, a PhD in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from The University of Queensland, and a Dual Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts from The University of Queensland.
