Anna Widmark

International Election Observer at FBA (Folke Bernadotte Academy)

Anna Widmark serves as an Election Officer at Sundbybergs stad since February 2024 and has been involved with Stockholms stad as an Election Official and Vice Chairman/Chairman since June 2002. As a member of the Swedish Rooster for International Election Observers, Anna Widmark has also worked with the FBA (Folke Bernadotteakademin) as an International Election Observer since June 2005, with assignments for the EU and OSCE. Recent contributions to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights include short-term observer roles during presidential elections in March and July 2023. Previous experience includes roles as Press Officer at Amnesty International Sweden, Mediepolitisk sekreterare & rådgivare at Journalistförbundet, and Senior Program Manager & Adviser at Sida. Anna Widmark was also the Director/Head of Operations for Reporters Without Borders (RSF) Sweden and served as an External Collaborator for the International Labour Organization. Education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Stockholm University and certificates in Human Rights and Diplomacy.

FBA (Folke Bernadotte Academy)

The Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) is the Swedish government agency for peace, security and development. FBA supports international peace operations and international development cooperation. The agency conducts training, research and method development in order to strengthen peacebuilding and statebuilding in conflict and post-conflict countries. We also recruit civilian personnel and expertise for peace operations and election observation missions led by the EU, UN and OSCE. The agency is named after Count Folke Bernadotte, the first UN mediator. Here on Linkedin we share the latest news from our activities.
