Ikemefula Nwagwu

Ikemefula Nwagwu, MBA, CRS, is an experienced banking professional currently serving as Executive Director and Chief Risk Officer at FirstBank Ghana since September 2021. With a robust career at First Bank of Nigeria Ltd, beginning in March 2011, Ikemefula has held multiple leadership roles, including Head of the Corporate Banking Unit and Head of Remedial Management Unit, where responsibilities included strategic direction for managing impaired assets and overseeing credit analysis teams. Previous experience includes significant positions at BankPHB Plc and First City Monument Bank Plc, where Ikemefula developed expertise in credit risk and enterprise risk management. Ikemefula Nwagwu earned an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, in 2021 and holds a degree from the University of Ibadan, completed in 1996.
