Jeffrey Smith

Jeffrey Smith is a Senior Consultant at Federal Advisory Partners. Prior to joining Federal Advisory Partners, Jeffrey was with Grant Thornton LLP from January 2018 to July 2019 as an Experienced Manager in Healthcare Advisory Practice specializing in Revenue Cycle Management and EHR (Electronic Health Record) implementation and optimization.

Before joining Grant Thornton, Jeffrey was with Ernst & Young from April 2011 to October 2017 as a Manager in the Healthcare/Performance Improvement Advisory practice. During their time at Ernst & Young, Jeffrey led the ICD-10 Diagnosis Code set implementation for 8 hospital network and associated physician practices. Their responsibilities included design/implementation of provider and medical record coder training and implementation of third- party software Intelligent Medical Objects. In addition, they conducted EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) business assessment and strategic plan for large West coast based multi-hospital system. Jeffrey was also the Project Manager overseeing development of future state Revenue Cycle workflows related to the consolidation of multiple Central Business Offices at multi-hospital network. And they managed the project responsibilities for ICD-10 related system upgrades, staff training, and workflow redesign for multi-state Home Health Care organization. Jeffrey has also audited Revenue Cycle related build and test of Epic System Charge Master (EAP) master file for large academic medical center prior to implementation. Jeffrey is a Subject Matter Expert for Revenue Cycle Operations and Clinical EMR’s engagements for EY Transaction Advisory Services (TAS).

Jeffrey Smith has a 3 year Diploma in Nursing from Crouse Hospital School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Arts in Theirtory from Le Moyne College, and a Master of Business Administration from Le Moyne College. Jeffrey is also certified by the AAPC as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and by the NY State Education Department as a Registered Nurse.
