Andras Kovacs

Andras Kovacs has extensive experience in aviation technology and program management, currently serving as the Acting Manager of the New Entrants Division at the Federal Aviation Administration since January 2009. Responsibilities include leading the development and integration of Uncrewed Aircraft Systems and advanced aircraft technologies within the NextGen portfolio. Previous roles at the FAA include Acting Deputy Director and Manager of both the Surveillance and Operational Improvements Branches, where Andras contributed to strategic guidance, air traffic system analysis, and standards development. Prior to the FAA, roles included Lead Systems Engineer at Veracity Engineering, focusing on multiple NextGen initiatives, and Electrical Hardware Design Engineer at Alcatel-Lucent, contributing to voice and data optical network technologies. Andras holds both MS and BS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
