Caroline Poyurs, PhD, has extensive experience in analytical and engineering roles within the aviation and technology sectors. Currently serving as Lead Analyst at the Federal Aviation Administration since August 2012, Caroline addresses complex airspace issues across the western US, including Hawaii and Alaska, and communicates findings to stakeholders and executives. Previously, as an Environmental Specialist at SAIC, Caroline managed FAA environmental actions for the western US despite lacking aviation experience at the onset. Earlier career roles included Thermal Validation Engineer and Quality Assurance Physicist at Exa Corporation, where Caroline contributed to establishing a thermal validation department and validating CFD software for the automotive industry. Caroline holds a PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics from Cornell University and a BA/MA in Physics, Geology, Chemistry, and Mathematics from the University of Cambridge.
