James Baird is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the aviation sector, particularly with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) since March 2000, where James currently serves as the Group Manager of the Enterprise Analysis Group within the NextGen Systems Engineering Office. In this role, James leads a team of systems engineers focused on the evolution of the FAA's National Airspace System Enterprise Architecture. Prior to this, James held the position of Senior Systems Engineer, overseeing long-term Surveillance architecture strategy for the FAA. James's career includes roles as a Senior Engineer at BAE Systems, Galaxy Scientific Corporation, and Technology Planning Incorporated, primarily supporting FAA’s Surveillance Systems and Office of Independent Operational Test & Evaluation. James began their engineering career at Westinghouse Electric Corporation, specializing in ground-based surveillance systems. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
