Tim O'Shea

Tim O'Shea serves as the Chief Technology Officer at DeepSig Inc., where focus lies on pioneering deep learning applications in wireless communications and signal processing. O'Shea is actively involved in the AI-RAN Alliance as a member of the Technical Steering Committee and has held the position of Research Assistant Professor at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University since September 2013, leading research in software radio, machine learning, and network security. Additionally, O'Shea contributes to the Federal Communications Commission's Technological Advisory Council and operates as the Principal at O'Shea Research, specializing in radio and machine learning consulting. Previous roles include strategic and RF sensing consultation at HawkEye 360 and Federated Wireless, respectively, and a senior engineering researcher position at the United States Department of Defense, where development of advanced software and cognitive radio systems occurred. Tim O'Shea holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and multiple degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University and the University of Maryland.
