Ramana Kapavarapu has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and privacy. In 2003, they started their career as an IT Audit Manager at Webex. Ramana then joined Cisco in 2010, where they held various roles such as Senior Manager and Product Manager in IT Compliance and Security. From 2018 to 2021, Ramana served as the Risk, Compliance, Data Protection, and Privacy Officer for Cisco's Supply Chain Security division. In 2021, they moved to Anaplan as a Partner, specializing in Business Applications, Cybersecurity, and Privacy. Currently, Ramana works as the Director of Cyber Risk & Controls at Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco as of 2023.

Ramana Kapavarapu completed a Master's degree in Cybersecurity at the University of California, Berkeley from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, Ramana obtained a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering/MIS from Wayne State University. Ramana also holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering from CS, Osmania University. Additionally, Ramana has obtained several certifications, including ISC2 Candidate from ISC2 in October 2022, CISM from the Information Systems Audit & Control Association in February 2010, CISSP from (ISC)² in September 2008, and PMP from the Project Management Institute in January 2005.
