John Crews

John Crews has a diverse work experience in the legal field. John began their career as a Law Clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. John then served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Texas before transferring to the U.S. Attorney's Office in the District of New Mexico. During their time there, they held various positions, including line AUSA, section supervisor, and branch office supervisor.

In 2007, John became an Attorney Advisor for the Office of Intelligence at the National Security Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. John later moved to the Office of Policy and Legislation with the Criminal Division.

In 2016, John was appointed as a United States Immigration Judge, a role they held until 2019 when they transferred to the Fort Worth Immigration Adjudication Center. Most recently, they have taken on the position of Director of the Bureau of Enforcement, Investigations, and Compliance at the Federal Maritime Commission.

John Crews attended Yorktown High School in Arlington, VA; however, no specific start or end year was provided. Following high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Liberal Studies at Boston University from 1975 to 1981. After completing their undergraduate studies, John went on to attend the SMU Dedman School of Law and obtained a JD degree from 1981 to 1985.
