Terra Castillo Laughton

Terra Castillo Laughton is currently a Deputy Federal Public Defender for the Central District of California, a position held since January 2023. Prior to this role, Terra served as a Staff Attorney in Complex Litigation at Community Legal Aid SoCal from September 2021 to December 2022. Terra's experience also includes working as an Associate at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP from November 2018 to September 2021, and as a Law Clerk for the United States Courts from August 2017 to August 2018. Terra holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law, completed in 2017, and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Brown University, obtained in 2014.
