President Of The General Drug Policy Cell/national Drug Coordinator Belgium at Federal Public Service Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment

Charlotte Colman serves as the President of the General Drug Policy Cell and National Drug Coordinator for Belgium at the Federal Public Service Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment since July 2022. Concurrently, Charlotte holds a professorship in Drug Policy and Criminal Policy at Ghent University, teaching subjects related to criminal justice and drug policy while overseeing numerous research projects on drug supply, recovery, and alternatives to punishment. Charlotte's extensive academic background includes a PhD in Criminology and various roles ranging from postdoctoral fellow to scientific researcher, with notable contributions to the evaluation of drug treatment courts and the development of integral drug policies. In addition, Charlotte co-founded the Desistance & Recovery Academy and actively participates in grant writing, policy development, and science communication.
