Daniel Baum has an extensive work history in the banking industry. Daniel started their career at the U.S. Department of Treasury as a Revenue Officer from August 1994 to February 1996. Daniel then joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond as a Check Operations - Manager from February 1996 to February 2000. From March 2000 to September 2006, they served as the Director of Product Development at the same bank. Afterwards, they joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and held various positions including Director from September 2006 to June 2012, VP New Product Development - Retail Payments Office from June 2012 to August 2019, and currently as the SVP, Head of Payments Product for FedNow starting from August 2019.

Daniel Baum obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School from 1997 to 2000. Additionally, they earned a Graduate Certificate in Banking Management from Vanderbilt University in 1999.
