Giovanni P. Olivei is a senior vice president and the deputy director of the research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Olivei’s current research interests are in monetary economics, with particular emphasis on inflation dynamics and the transmission of monetary policy to real activity and prices, and in macroeconomic forecasting.
Olivei earned his BA in economics at Università Commerciale L. Bocconi, Italy, where he graduated summa cum laude. He earned his PhD in economics at Princeton University.
