Michael Rodehorst

Michael (Mike) Rodehorst is senior vice president and chief information officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He is also a member of the Bank’s Executive Committee.

As CIO, Mike leads the Information Technology division and has overall responsibility for the Bank’s IT, Information Security, Application Development, and Data Analytics functions. He provides strategic direction for the Bank’s information technology needs, including efforts aimed at smart automation, strategic data management and analytics, and innovative technology research. He also represents the Boston Reserve Bank on Federal Reserve System-wide IT initiatives, including as a member of the Technology Delivery Leadership Council.

Prior to his CIO role, Mike served as vice president and chief information security officer for the FedNow® Service. He was responsible for the development and execution of the overall security profile of the cloud-native instant payments service, including strategy, assurance activities, and security operations.

Mike joined the Bank in 2007 and has held various roles with responsibility for network security architecture, incident response, risk and compliance, security operations, data privacy, and security consulting functions throughout the Bank. He has served as both the Bank’s chief information security officer and data privacy officer. Throughout his career at the Federal Reserve, Mike has led and participated in several initiatives focused on transforming, delivering, operating, and securing networks, applications, and cloud services.

Prior to joining the Federal Reserve, Mike held various network and information security roles in financial services and managed services organizations, both domestically and abroad.

Mike holds a computer science degree from Tulane University, an M.B.A. from Boston University, and maintains several industry certifications.
